Canterbury Timber Windows and Doors have a variety of products available - from the grand Timber Stacking Sliding Door - to the functional and stylish Timber Bifold Window.
Timber is an excellent building material that has been a staple of the housing industry for many years. Timber has stood the test of time, and when properly treated and looked after, makes for a beautiful and solid material.
Our timber windows and doors are available in three species:
Meranti is a solid wood that is not subject to warping or twisting. This means it will hold its shape in versatile environments and over time. It has good nailing, screwing and gluing properties and readily accepts varnish, paint or stain.
Kiln Dried Hardwood, or KD Hardwood is grown in Australia and harvested in Victoria under Government regulations. It is a strong and durable timber, which is not subject to warping or twisting. KD Hardwood is a sustainable timber with a straight grain and consistent colour typically pale pink to straw.
Western Red Cedar
Western Red Cedar is a beautiful softwood timber. It is well known for its long lasting qualities, and when properly finished and maintained, will deliver decades of trouble-free service. Cedar's uniqueness derives from its low density; this gives it an insulation value superior to most other species.
We also have a range of screens for our timber doors including Pleated, Framed and Retractable.
Our unique and exclusive timber seal TimGuard is a semi finished two coat clear seal that offers superior protection with a 25% greater and more consistent film build than traditional methods.
TimGuard is applied in factory and offers protection prior to transport and while on site, ensuring protection against the elements straight from the factory.
TimGuard contributes to a longer lasting finish with more durable and better-looking results and can even be stained or painted over to suit any home.
